Creating a Project Work Breakdown Structure in the new Microsoft Dynamics AX
A work breakdown structure (WBS), in project management and systems engineering, is a deliverable-oriented decomposition of a project into smaller components. A work breakdown structure is a key project deliverable that organizes the team's work into manageable sections.
In this video we'll review the project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) in the new Microsoft Dynamics AX Service Industries ERP system. This is the next step after setting up a project that we'd shown in this demo video.
This video shows you how to build up the WBS for a project, including starting from scratch or importing and editing WBS's from templates. We show the schedule planning view that provides a complete breakdown of all project tasks and dependencies (time, dependencies, resources, staffing etc) as well as the estimated cost and revenue views, which shows us how the cost and revenue for the project will build up based on the details in the WBS.
